By car via the A9 Motpellier-Barcelona motorway to the "Le Boulou" exit.
Take the train via Perpignan to Argelès sur mer. From there, continue by bus (Mon-Sat) or taxi to Laroque des Albères (9 km).
Long-distance bus: recently there are very cheap long-distance bus connections (Flix-Bus, BlaBlaBus, Oui-Bus....), some of them overnight, to Perpignan.
Airports: Depending on where you are coming from: Perpignan (32 km), Béziers (143 km), Montpellier (196 km), Toulouse (251 km) or in Spain Girona (95 km), Barcelona (199 km).

In the immediate vicinity of the house, on the Place de la République by the church, you will find two cosy and very popular restaurants:
"Le Catalan" - with a large outdoor area by the ancient plane tree
"Le Refuge Du Clocher" - a very charming old stone house with several small terraces. Very cosy and snug!
Attached to it is a crêpérie with an ice cream parlour and a cosy outdoor seating area.

If you love the cosiness of medieval walls combined with art, originality and unusual architecture, you are sure to feel at home in the "Maison Aux Martinets" (by the swifts). Benefit from the view of the Mediterranean, the quiet, idyllic location and the liveliness of an artists’ town. The ancient Catalan stone house in the castle grounds of Laroque has been ecologically restored and has already welcomed many enthusiastic guests. It is located in a quiet, car-free alleyway in the old town, just a 5-minute walk below the castle tower of "La Roca". On the ground floor there is a "stone cellar" as a kind of reception room, which offers pleasantly cool temperatures, especially in summer. On this level there is also a bathroom, toilet and an exit to the small courtyard garden. The central room on the first floor is the rustic kitchen with a gas and wood-burning cooker, which serves as heating in the winter months. From here you reach a bedroom with a view of the garden and the dining room. The beautiful old wooden staircase leads to the living room on the second floor with a small library and a good selection of board games. From here there are two further bedrooms, each with two beds. From a total of three rooms you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the roofs of the old town to the Mediterranean (Argelès sur mer). All rooms on the first and second floors have wooden floors. Thanks to the many rooms on different levels, the house offers ideal retreats if required. A hot water boiler provides sufficient hot water. The thick stone walls ensure a pleasant indoor climate in summer and store the warmth of the stove fire in winter. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering and has crockery for 6 people.

Laroque is a picturesque little town with a medieval centre on the edge of the Albères Nature Park. At the foot of the Pyrenees chain, which slopes down to the Mediterranean, Laroque des Albères benefits from the green cork oak forests, which also provide water in springs and rivers in summer. The magnificent view from the castle ruins over the endless coastline of the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees chain with the Canigou, which is covered in snow in the winter months, and the Roussillon plain is enchanting. The Pyrénées Orientales around Laroque des Albères offer a varied landscape and a predominantly warm, sunny climate.between Argelès sur mer and Cannet Plage, you can swim, surf, play and run on the many kilometres of sandy beach.the rocky coast between Argelès sur mer and Cerbère offers many secluded bathing bays, crystal-clear water for diving and snorkelling as well as charming hiking trails along the cliffs with fantastic views
